it depends so much on the size of the yacht…….if its big enough to carry enough food and water to go non stop, you could do it in 100-150 days…….if you want to stop along the way, then the answers is up to a year…..Chichester did it for the first time in Gypsy Moth in the 70's in, I think, 90 days but he was one hell of a sailor…..the new tricked out Volvo ocean racers have done it in 50, sailing with a large crew of professional sailors, and on the edge of disaster all the way…….
