Too many mosquitoes! The bars and restaurants do not have AC. The snorkeling right off the beach is great! The mini-club for kids was not that good, our 7 year old liked the kid’s club at Barcelos better.

this place really sucks compared to other hotels. everything is afr away, like the bar and the club. also, they do not know how to use the AC when it is soo hot. Not organized. there are way better places to stay at, like the barcelo.

I stayed there in Akumal! We got a whole Coach bus to ourselves; it only took an hour to get there from Cancun. It was amazing!!! One word describes it: Indescribable!!! I recommend doing a tour, also. We did the snorkeling tour. We went to the ocean inlet, an open cenote, and a closed cenote. It was miraculous! I loved the Mikado restaurant and the Arlequin one.

Best resort we ever stayed at. We like it so much we are going back in February. Royal Golden is worth it. Akumal and Tulum are the best two, but Coba was still new when we were there. Will check out the Coba section when we arrive. Loved the separate concierge and decent internet. Food was also great and it really is a 5 star. Staff are very professional. Video is very accurate and realistic, but the real thing is even better.

You need to respect nature, you don’t need AC when you have this beautiful, awesome experience…

of course its rocky retard…its called HURRICANES!..they destroyed the coral, coral breaks off….goes to beach…

One thing I would recommend bringing is water shoes because when you go in the water, the surface underneath is rocky.

My hubby and I were there just recently. LOVED the resort. The ride the from the airport is long but worth it like everyone says. We stayed at 7413. The resort is huge! But not to worry the shuttle buses function til 3am. I highly recommend anyone to go to this resort. The hotel grounds were VERY CLEAN!!! I dont see anything wrong except 7 days don’t seem enough at all!!! Aside from that, we were happy!

The only thing i didnt like was the elcart’e resrontes u had to book and be there for a certain time and the food wasnt that special .. ( carrying on )

Glad you had such a great time there. I wish I could take everyone I knew to that place! Once you’ve been there it’s in your heart for life. I definitely recommend going to Chichen Itza and Xel Ha. I even miss the local birds.
March 11th, 2010 at 6:34 pm
yeh it is two hours. lol n yeah it was worth the ride. lol

Don’t depend on your bank card. They couldn’t take mine, I had to use Visa at the shop. Bring Pesos and ask for the price in Pesos, it’s cheaper than dollars in most outlaying shops. The prices at the resort are the best you’ll get anywhere. Don’t waist your time shopping in Playa del Carmen (we were told). Great visit! Chinchen Itza is magical and Tulum is marvelous. We recommend both. Cheers!

Thank you for the commentary! It is all true, our bus was two hours but the resort is closer to the ruins. We could sleep in until 8:30 before the bus came.
March 11th, 2010 at 6:34 pm
Very accurate! Thank you for the peek of the resort before we went. We saw more fish off the beach than there were at Xel-Ha, the park. The bus ride was two hours from the airport but closer to the ruins than the other resorts, which you will like if you take tours, you can sleep in until 8:30am.

Its true i was there and the time to the airport from the hotel is like 2 hours but if we take out the other persons hotels is less time!!
